Brian Casey has forty years of banking and investment banking experience with a concentration in real estate finance. While working in the investment banking divisions of Chemical Bank and then Citibank, Mr. Casey developed an expertise in all aspects of real estate finance and mortgage banking. As a consultant for CS/First Boston, Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs, he gained extensive experience in acquisition analysis and due diligence in their purchase of banks and bank portfolios. In 1988, Mr. Casey became the Managing Director of Real Estate Investment Banking at Equitable Bank, where he was responsible for advising bank clients on various real estate transactions. Following the merger of Equitable Bank and Maryland National Bank in 1991, he formed The Casey Group and has advised numerous regional clients on their strategic business issues including bankruptcy, troubled asset management and workouts, and mortgage lending compliance. Notable engagements include advising the Bank of Baltimore on workouts and troubled loan sales, advising Ferris Baker Watts on bank IPO's, and providing litigation support to leading law firms in the Baltimore-Washington area. Brian Casey has offered testimony in U.S. Bankruptcy Court (4th Circuit) and has served as a court-appointed administrator in both Baltimore County Circuit Court and in the Fourth Circuit, where he served as a Special Master in the Fountainhead Title Class Action Settlement. He has also worked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office (Greenbelt, Maryland) and the Baltimore office of the FBI on cases involving financial fraud. Specific Areas of Expertise Include:
